Lakewood Recognized as One of the Best Nursing Homes for Short-Term Rehabilitation

In recent news, Lakewood has been named as one of the Best Nursing Homes for Short-Term Rehabilitation for 2022-2023 by U.S. News & World Report. This is a prestigious accolade that recognizes only the top 16% of skilled nursing facilities across the United States.

For 13 years, U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Nursing Homes ratings have assisted prospective residents and their families in making informed decisions about where to receive short-term or long-term nursing home care. This recognition highlights the outstanding care, safety and outcomes provided by Lakewood to its residents.

The Best Nursing Homes methodology factors data such as resident care, safety and outcomes. To calculate the Best Nursing Homes ratings, U.S. News evaluated each nursing home’s performance using a variety of data obtained from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

“Our team works hard to ensure the best quality care is provided to Lakewood residents,” said Heather Crumbaugh, Executive Director for Lakewood. “This sentiment of dedication to providing exceptional care is evident throughout Lakewood, which aims to provide an atmosphere of comfort and compassion while meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident.”

U.S. News & World Report’s new measure on weekend staffing and infection rates that led to hospitalizations were included in this year’s Best Nursing Homes ratings. Choosing the right nursing home based on care needs and comfort is a critical decision for prospective residents and their families. The Best Nursing Homes ratings highlight nursing homes that excel in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care needs.

The short-term rehabilitation rating also includes measures of a home’s success in preventing falls, preventing serious infections and making sure residents are able to return home. The long-term care rating includes measures of whether a home changed ownership and how well they were staffed on weekends.

Lakewood’s recognition as a Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehabilitation is a testament to the community’s commitment to providing quality care and outcomes to its residents.
