The James Seafood & Chophouse Now Open

Lakewood Retirement Community is pleased to announce the opening of its third new dining venue, The James. Hailed as the community’s high-end seafood chophouse, The James opened its doors on February 13. Lakewood’s Food and Beverage Manager Melissa Dixon called the new restaurant a “world-class dining experience in the comfort of your own backyard.”

Residents who dined at The James upon its opening agree. Rebecca Moak said her dining was a five-star experience. She and her husband, David Richardson, recently enjoyed dinner at the new venue.

“We enjoyed it very, very much and it was by far the best meal I’ve had in many, many, many years,” she said.

“The food was much better than expected and the prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants,” said Richardson.

Moak chose the portabella mushrooms while Richardson chose a ribeye steak and wedge salad. The couple shared a crab salad gazpacho.

“I order a banana cake and I shared my four-layer deliciousness. He ate a fourth of it and he didn’t share his key lime pie,” Moak exclaimed.

The menu features jumbo sea scallops, steamed lobster tail and Wagyu rib-eye or filet mignon. Diners can also select rockfish oreganatta, farm-to-table pork chop or chicken breast. Side items include asparagus, mushroom risotto, cider coleslaw, hand-cut French fries, brown butter carrots and green beans with shallots.
