Lakewood Residents Taste Tea on the Terrace
It’s tea time at Lakewood as residents tasted tea on April 6. The tasting was all part of a spring-long event series featuring the hot drink.
On April 4, residents decorated hats, bonnets and fascinators in preparation for the tasting. Then, more than 40 participants donned the headpieces and took to the terrace for afternoon tea. The tasting featured four different teas for sampling from Carytown Teas including coconut almond white tea, memory aid herbal tea and jade oolong tea. Carytown Teas Owner Andrea Post provided residents with tasting notes and steeping instructions. A harpist was on hand to play live music.
On May 11, residents are invited to attend a fellowship tea with Chaplains Julie Walton and Pam Creech. The event will be held at Tea with Kip, a shabby chic tea room with a lot of southern charm. The menu will be centered around the theme of Paris in Springtime. Pearls and hats will be provided. Those interested in attending may sign up at the podium at the beginning of May.
An all-community tea party for residents in all levels of care will be held in June. Details will be shared in the near future.
