Lakewood Celebrates Centenarians

Every six months, Lakewood Retirement Community hosts a birthday party for its residents who have reached or exceeded 100 years old. On March 9, 10 of the community’s centenarian residents were celebrated.

Louise Dunbar turned 100 on February 2 while Helen Stevens celebrated 100 years on February 18. Laura Neale will turn 101 on April 1 and Kathryn Skeirik on October 23. Doris McCaughan will reach 102 on June 2 and on December 13 Malcolm Mann will be 101. June Guthrie and Alma Fernald will be 102 on August 17 and November 9 respectively. On June 12, Ruth Robinson will reach 103 and on November 9, Rae Morris will join her.

The festivities included entertainment from classically trained pianist Don Irwin and birthday cake. Birthday celebrants received corsages or boutonnieres.
