September 1: COVID-19 Update at Lakewood

Dear Lakewood Family,

The Lakewood leadership team learned Wednesday, September 1, 2021, that a healthcare team member tested positive for COVID-19. The team member is self-quarantining at home pending completion of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) return-to-work criteria.

VDH is aware of these cases, and the Lakewood team is following all guidance and recommendations for the health and well-being of our residents and team members. Contact tracing is underway. Anyone affected will be contacted personally, and appropriate steps will be taken.

This team member worked on third-floor hall one, and all residents on this hall are currently in the process of being tested. Visitation on this hall is suspended, and communal dining will not take place.

Testing will resume until Wednesday, September 15, in accordance with VDH guidance. If all are test results are negative at that time, communal dining and visitation can resume.
