Residents Plant Nearly 20 Trees on Arbor Day
Just a week after participating in the Earth Day 3K, residents were back outdoors to celebrate Arbor Day. Arbor Day—which is always celebrated on the last Friday in April—is a special day that is set aside throughout the world to raise awareness of trees and the important role that they play in the environment.
On April 30, 19 new trees were planted around the Lakewood community in honor of the residents who each participated in last week’s race. Following the tree planting, several residents took to the grounds to clean up the community.
