October 26: Visitation Update

Lakewood’s leadership team is excited to share that the most recent round of baseline testing has been concluded with all negative results and there have been no new onset COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days in the community.

As a result, effective Tuesday, October 27, Lakewood will offer in-room visitation in the higher levels of care.

Rose Building and Health Services Building Assisted Living in-room visitation (resident room):
  • Visitors are permitted on odd days of the month. Parking will occur on the Clubhouse side of the campus.
  • Health Services Building assisted living: Visitors are permitted on even calendar days, and parking will be on the Health Services Building side of campus.
  • There are no restrictions to visitation hours.

Memory Care: Cleanroom visitation via appointment on the Calendly app will continue due to the high risks associated with residents not wearing masks on the unit. If you would prefer your appointment on the patio, please alert the visitation monitor on your arrival.

Lakewood will accommodate and support indoor visitation, based on the following guidelines:

  • There has been no new onset on COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days in the community and the community is not currently conducting outbreak testing.
  • Visitors must be able to adhere to the core principles of infection prevention.
  • Visits will be limited to no more than one visitor at a time.
  • Visitors will be limited to visit for a specified length of time: a maximum of one hour.
  • Visitation for second-floor healthcare residents will occur on even days and visitation for third-floor healthcare residents will occur on odd days.
  • Residents currently on 14-day isolation protocols due to COVID-19 will be unable to have visitors during their 14-day isolation.
  • The community may limit the total number of visitors in the community at one time.
  • The community will limit visitor movement in the community; visitors will be required to go directly to the resident room/apartment for visitation. Movement throughout the community and use of common areas will be restricted at this time.
  • Visitors will need to immediately exit the community once visitation is complete.

All visitation will require the visitor to be screened. All visitors must pass screening questions and have their temperature checked to be granted entry into the community. All visitors will be expected to adhere to the infection control protocol:

  1. Facial mask worn by both visitor and resident at all times
  2. Social distancing of at least six feet
  3. Hand hygiene with the use of hand sanitizer prior to the community entrance and after all visitation
  4. Avoidance of physical contact

Please refrain from visitation if the visitor has any active illness symptoms. Additionally, the leadership team requests that visitors notify Lakewood immediately if they become suspicious of having COVID-19 and have visited the community in the 14 days prior to coming into contact or suspected contact with COVID-19.
