November 20: COVID-19 Update

On November 20, 2020, the Lakewood leadership team was made aware of a housekeeping team member that tested positive for COVID-19. It was determined that this team member did not have close contact with any residents through detailed contact tracing. However, it was also determined that this same team member did have close contact with other Lakewood housekeeping team members. Out of an abundance of caution, Lakewood leadership sent all impacted members of the housekeeping team home until it can be confirmed they do not have COVID-19.

As a result, Lakewood will be operating with less than the normal number of housekeeping team members for the next two weeks. The remaining housekeeping team members will prioritize cleaning and sanitizing common areas, assisted living, memory support and healthcare.

Unfortunately, Lakewood’s housekeeping team will not be able to clean independent living residences on its regular schedule. Starting today through December 7, housekeeping for all independent living residences will be suspended. The regular housekeeping schedule will resume on December 7.

Immediate and urgent housekeeping needs will still be attended to by the housekeeping team. If you have a housekeeping need that can’t wait until December 7, or after, please call the concierge at 521-9230.

Lakewood’s team urges all residents and team members to continue wearing masks and using proper hand hygiene. Everyone will continue to be screened before entry into the community. All team members are required to wear facial coverings.

Please reach out to the Lakewood team with questions or concerns. Stay tuned to http://www.lakewoodwestend.org/blog/covid19/ for the latest updates.
