February 3: COVID-19 Update

The Lakewood leadership team learned on February 2 that seven team members tested positive for COVID-19. The positive cases were identified during state-mandated twice-weekly baseline testing.

Three of the positive team members are nurses in the healthcare neighborhood, one is an admin nurse and three are members of the maintenance team. All seven team members are self-quarantining at home pending completion of Virginia Department of Health (VDH) return-to-work criteria.

Contact tracing has been completed. Any residents or team members identified as having close contact with the positive team members have been contacted directly. VDH has been notified of these positive cases.
Team members will be tested again on February 4 as part of the ongoing baseline testing. The leadership team will report any positive tests as results are returned. The ongoing testing is due to the positivity rate in Henrico County which remains high.

Lakewood’s second vaccination clinic will be held on February 4. Please continue to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth, socially distance and practice proper hand hygiene.
